Hårsbäcksdalen Nature Reserve
At the bottom of a deep ravine and through lush vegetation, the Örsunda River winds its way.
The Örsunda River has cut its way through the esker Enköpingsåsen and created a deep ravine. The sides slope steeply down towards the meandering river, where you are surrounded by dark and lush greenery. The large fern ostrich bracken thrives here and contributes to an almost jungle-like feeling.
If you visit the area in the spring, you will be greeted by an abundance of spring flowers. Already in April, the fragrant mezereum blooms with red-violet flowers on bare branches. Later, the ground is covered with common hepatica and wood anemones. Chirping Blackcaps and Wood Warblers can be heard through the forest and with a bit of luck, you may even catch sight of the rare kingfisher.
It's easy to explore the area on the marked trails and there are two resting areas with fireplace and toilet.
Remember that Hårsbäcksdalen is a nature reserve and follow the specific rules that apply to protect plants and wildlife.
Regulations
In the reserve it is forbidden to:
- dig, chop or otherwise damage the soil surface,
- break twigs, cut down or otherwise damage living or dead trees and shrubs,
- collect plants, mosses, mushrooms, lichens or otherwise remove or damage plants or parts of plants of any kind, with the exception of picking edible mushrooms, fruit and berries,
- collect or remove insects or other invertebrates,
- deliberately disturb wildlife,
- light fires or barbecues in any place other than by the reserve manager specially prepared fire places,
- drive a motor vehicle with the exception of driving on the road and parking space,
- park a motorised vehicle, caravan or trailer other than temporarily at the parking space,
- put up permanent markings, signs etc.,
- ride horses,
- use the area for organized competition or training purposes, camp activities etc. with the exception of smaller exercise races on existing trails and local history celebrations of a cultural character at "Festplatsen".
