Traffic and infrastructure
When the infrastructure in the county is to be altered or renewed, many community actors are involved. The County Administrative Board participates in all planning processes in one way or another. We also receive proposals for changes to local traffic regulations and changes to maritime traffic.
The planning of roads and railways
The County Administrative Board has different roles and responsibility in the work when planning roads and railways.
Motor traffic in nature
Off-road driving on bare ground is prohibited throughout Sweden. The County Administrative Board may decide on exceptions to the bare ground ban and snowmobile bans.
Maritime traffic
The County Administrative Board receive suggestions on changes to maritime traffic in water areas within the county. We sometimes take decisions on permits for shows and competitions on water.
Building by roads
If you are going to build something next to a road area that can affect traffic safety, you may need a permit from the County Administrative Board. This applies to both new facilities and extensions.
Advertisement signs along roads
If you want to install an advertisement or information sign, a permit is required from the County Administrative Board, The Swedish Transport Administration, or the municipality. The landowner must also give their permission.
Competitions and vehicle shows on a road
Do you want to organise a competition or show with vehicles on the road? Then you first need to apply for a permit from the County Administrative Board.
