County Administrative Board

In Sweden, each county has an Administrative Board, a governmental body working in direct and continuous contact with the people it serves. The County Administrative Board has a unique position in Swedish democracy.

It is an important link between people and municipalities on the one hand, and the government and central authorities on the other.

Sweden is divided into twenty-ones counties, each county has a County Administrative Board and a county governor.

The work of the County Administrative Board Halland is led by the county governor Lena Sommestad. The County Administrative Board is a coordinating national authority with supervisory responsibilities. We are also a public service authority and can hear appeals.
