Registration of primary production

Are you going start business activities in primary production and produce food or feed at farm level? Or are you going to feed food-producing animals? If so, you and your facility must be registered with the County Administrative Board before commencing your business activities. You can also change information you have previously registered.

Primary production of food and feed

If you are a primary producer and produce food at farm level, you must have your facility registered with the County Administrative Board. This applies both for new business or taking over an existing business.

Food business operator in primary production

Your business is allowed to commence two weeks after the County Administrative Board has received your registration.

Primary production entails keeping food-producing animals meant for meat, milk and egg production, growing different vegetables and grains, and hunting, fishing, beekeeping and gathering wild berries and mushrooms.

When do you not need to register your facility?

If you only grow vegetables, keep food-producing animals, pick wild berries and mushrooms, etc. for your own personal use, your facility does not need to be registered. If your facility is limited, you don’t need to register it either.

When do you not need to register your facility?
