The County Administrative Board of Gävleborg
The County Administrative Board represents the Government in Gävleborg County and stands for the rule of law, diversity and sustainable, holistic policies.
The residence in Gävle The County Administrative Board of Gävleborg is one of Sweden´s 21 county administrations and is responsible for central government administration in its various fields of activity. Our responsibilities include:
- ensuring that national goals are reached at county level
- coordinating different interests within the community from an overall national perspective
- promoting the county´s development
watching over conditions in the county and keeping the Government informed
granting permits and hearing appeals against municipal decisions within the Administration´s areas of responsibility
exercising supervisory powers by checking that various bodies observe the law and guidelines
- acting as a service organisation and providing expert help for all who live and work in the county
The County Administrative Board of Gävleborg has a staff of some 250 based in Gävle.
The Governor and the Deputy Governor are in charge of the county and are based in Gävle.
